The city pride sign will stay in their yard for about 3 weeks.

To nominate other residents, please send the mayor an email to mayor@woodlawnpark.com or call City Hall 895-6620 to leave a message with the address and brief reason why this resident should receive a city pride award. These awards can also be given for good deeds in the city!


Ordinance Reminders

Disclaimer: This info is only a summary of a few of the ordinances.

PARKING

1.      It shall be unlawful for any person to park any motor vehicle, boat or trailer on the unpaved portion of any lot or other undeveloped and un-subdivided property within the City of Woodlawn Park.  No such vehicles shall be parked closer to the street than the front of the residence or the setback line of the lot.  Ref.:  Ordinance No. 1, 1994-1995.  A "paved area" shall mean a solid, unbroken surface consisting of concrete or asphalt.  Loose gravel or rock shall not be considered a paved area.  Ref.:  Ordinance No. 4, 2003.  Fine: uncontested violations; first offense -    $25, second offense - $50, all others - $100, contested violations; first offense -

EASEMENT MAINTENANCE

1.     It is unlawful to discard any trash, grass or debris on any property easement in Woodlawn Park.  Fine shall not be less than $50 or more than $500 or not to exceed more than thirty (30) days in jail or both.  Each additional day shall constitute a separate offense.  Ref.:  Ordinance No. 5, 1993.

LOT MAINTENANCE

12. Grass on all subdivision lots within the City of Woodlawn Park shall be cut to a height on no more than six (6) inches and the property must be kept free of unnecessary trash and debris. Grass on undeveloped property must be cut at least three (3) times evenly spaced, through the growing season. It shall be unlawful to park, store or leave for a period in excess of seventy-two (72) hours any vehicle which is rusted, wrecked, junked or partially dismantled condition unless this vehicle is completely enclosed within a building. Fine: first offense $10 to $25. Subsequent offenses $25 to $100.

If at anytime you are going to away from your house for an extended period of time, please call 574-5471 or 439-6545 (chief cell) to schedule a house watch! Our police of chief makes this a priority and your home is checked on often.
Yard Sale Approaching
The annual yard sale will be held on Saturday, May 11th, 2013 from 8am until 1pm. All residents wishing to participate should be watching for the sign up sheets at each entrance.

TRASH CONTAINER NEWS.....
  • As a courtesy to other residents, please do not roll out your trash containers until after 6pm on Sunday's and please bring your empty containers in by Monday evening. This will help keep our city looking good and prevent containers being hit by vehicles.
  • Please do not block the streets or your mailbox with your trash containers.
  • Trash containers should be placed at the corner of your yard and driveway.

Water Company Project  Mike stated the containers on Darbrook and Stivers are for outside corrosion on the pipes.  The project will be finished when the weather cooperates.

Ambridge Circle  Mike stated a free tree was received from Ecotech at the KLC  dinner.  It will be placed on Ambridge Circle.

Grounds Keeping Bid- Mike stated he would like to put out for bids the grounds keeping.  There were no objections from the Council.  Larry stated the bids need to specify the number of mowings.  Mike gave a list of jobs and areas to Council.  He will place an ad and have a bid package.  He will also ask about snow removal.  Mike discussed using "Magic Salt" and that TLD does not have the equipment to apply it.  Larry asked to include this in the bid package. Greg stated he might have information about duties and a map.  There was a discussion on how to publish a request for bids.  Mike will place an ad in the Voice.  He stated he also wants a bid for shrubs at the entrances.  He will see if District 7 can help with this.

Curb Painting  The curb at Walser and Westport Road will be painted with white reflective paint in the spring.

City Flag  Mike stated the City flag is tattered.  He stated it is $135.00 for 1 or 6 for $88.00 each.  Larry stated to buy the extras and keep on hand for replacements.  Mike stated the banners still look good.  Greg asked if Mike had a cost for the American Flag.  Mike stated he did not.  Mike asked for Council's permission to purchase 6 flags that may last for 3 years.  George made a motion to purchase the flags.  Larry seconded the motion.   All voted aye and the motion was passed.
