City Pride Awards
Many years ago, Woodlawn Park offered City Pride Awards to residents who took extra pride of their homes by keeping their lawns nicely manicured or landscaped or made other improvements to their property.

AUGUST 2012 WINNERS:

Steve and Chana Elswick, 4253 Westport Terrace for planting 5 new trees and adding new windows and new vinyl siding.

Bob and Sue Heller, 6838 Green Meadow Circle for landscaping.

SEPTEMBER 2012 WINNERS

Natalie Grooms, 6706 Green Meadow Court for adding new landscaping.

Mr. Ron Adams, 4322 Westport Terrace for sanding and painting his brick home.

OCTOBER 2012 WINNER

Eric and Donna Fry, 4302 Westport Terrace for outstanding landscaping. fall decorations and for keeping the yard looking nice!

NOVEMBER 2012 WINNER
Richard and Sandra Chesson, 808 Cattleya Court for the outstanding landscaping along Westport Road behind their home.

Winners receive a sign in their yard for 3 weeks and a certificate signed by the Mayor!

Congratulations to each of these residents for keeping their properties up nicely and taking pride in their city!

To nominate other residents, please send the mayor an email to mayor@woodlawnpark.com or call City Hall 895-6620 to leave a message with the address and brief reason why this resident should receive a city pride award. These awards can also be given for good deeds in the city!

Ordinance Reminders

Disclaimer: This info is only a summary of the ordinances.

PETS

1.      It is unlawful to allow pets to run at large within the City Limits (away from the premises of its owner and not on a leash).  Ref.:  Ordinance No. 5, 1988.  Fine:  uncontested violations; first offense - $25, second offense - $50, all others - $100, contested violations; first offense - $75, second offense - $150, all others - $300.  This is also a state statute.


LOT MAINTENANCE

1.      Grass on all subdivision lots within the City of Woodlawn Park shall be cut to a height on no more than s9x (6) inches and the property must be kept free of unnecessary trash and debris.  Grass on undeveloped property must be cut at least three (3) times evenly spaced, through the growing season.  It shall be unlawful to park, store or leave for a period in excess of seventy-two (72) hours any vehicle which is rusted, wrecked, junked or partially dismantled condition unless this vehicle is completely enclosed within a building.  Fine:  first offense $10 to $25.  Subsequent offenses $25 to $100.

 

PARKING

1.      It shall be unlawful for any person to park any motor vehicle, boat or trailer on the unpaved portion of any lot or other undeveloped and un-subdivided property within the City of Woodlawn Park.  No such vehicles shall be parked closer to the street than the front of the residence or the setback line of the lot.  Ref.:  Ordinance No. 1, 1994-1995.  A "paved area" shall mean a solid, unbroken surface consisting of concrete or asphalt.  Loose gravel or rock shall not be considered a paved area.  Ref.:  Ordinance No. 4, 2003.  Fine: 

uncontested violations; first offense -    $25, second offense - $50, all others - $100, contested violations; first offense -

SPEED LIMIT

1.      The speed limit on City maintained streets within corporate limits of Woodlawn Park has been established at 25 m.p.h. and provisions for 4-way stops, stop and yield signs within the City.

NOTICE-RENTAL PROPERTY

LICENSE/BUSINESS LICENSE FEE

Each person, firm, organization or corporation that leases real property or improvements to real property within the City of Woodlawn Park, KY is deemed to be engaged in business and shall obtain an annual license from the City Clerk by no later than April 1st of each year at a minimum cost of $250.00.  Failure to obtain said license shall result in a maximum fine of $250.00 for each year of violation.

If at anytime you are going to away from your house for an extended period of time, please call 574-5471 or 439-6545 (chief cell) to schedule a house watch! Our police of chief makes this a priority and your home is checked on often.
As Winter approaches...

and it gets darker quicker in the evenings, please make sure that if you are out walking or biking, wear light colored clothing or a vest that can be seen. Reflectors work very well! Remember- safety first!
Snow Removal Procedure
If 2" or more of snow falls, the roads of Woodlawn Park will be salted and plowed. Less than 2", the roads will be salted only.

Newsletter Changes

Now that we have the ability to email and create online newsletters, we will be doing so each and every month for you to read and keep up with current calendars and city happenings.

If you know of someone that would rather receive a printed newsletter, we can do that too! However, for the time being there will be one printed newsletter that comes out every July that will include the budget and ad valorem tax ordinances. That newsletter will be mailed to all residents.

In the mean time, we will publish an email version of a newsletter every month.
