PUBLIC MEETING
WESTPORT ROAD CORRIDOR

Who: Councilwoman Angela Leet, Councilman Glen Stuckel & Louisville Metro Public Works

What: An initial public meeting soliciting public comment on the Westport Road Corridor

When:  March 28, 2017 at 6:00PM -7:30PM

Where: Portland Christian School | 8509 Westport Rd, Louisville, KY 40242

Councilwoman Angela Leet, Councilman Glen Stuckel and Louisville Metro Public works  invite you to participate in a public meeting regarding the Westport Road corridor. This meeting is being held to understand your concerns and the issues you believe are prevalent along corridor.

It is our goal to work with the public to identify possible options that improve safety and mobility for all users of this corridor. The plan’s goal is to develop a safe, accessible, and vibrant street for all.

The purpose of the first meeting is to initiate the participatory planning process.We want to hear from you! We hope that you will be able to join us for this public meeting on March 28.

Warm Weather brings out Solicitors

Although the City of Woodlawn Park has a NO Solicitation (without a permit0 ordinance. Solicitors find their way into our city on occasion. If you encounter a solicitor without a Woodlawn Park permit (the cities DO NOT KNOCK LIST superedes a permit).
    • First and foremost do not let them into your home for any reason.  Do not allow them to use your phone or restroom.  
    • Do not give them money.
    • If you have any doubts they are legitimate ask for identification or credentials.  
    • Do not provide any personal information. 
  • Call if you have any reason to believe they are not legitimate or refuse to leave.

  • Always call 911 for emergencies!

  • PLEASE OBSERVE STOP SIGNS AND SPEED LIMITS.
  • Please be courteous to all of your neighbors at all times.

General Guidelines
Normal junk pickup consist of hot water heaters, washers, dryers, dishwashers, couches, chairs, coffee/end tables, boxed toys, garage items, tools, grills, bicycles, lawn mowers (gas tank removed), refrigerators (must have refrigerant removed and certified with proper tag) etc.

Effective Immediately- due to health issues such as bed bugs and other biological issues all mattresses to be picked up as bulk must be wrapped in plastic.

 Louisville Metro Solid Waste and Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore now accept partial cans of latex paint for recycling.  The collected paint will be re-blended for sale in Habitat ReStore locations in Louisville. The program is made possible by a grant from the Kentucky Pride Fund.

Woodlawn Park will again this year be participating in the Brightside Spring Community Cleanup. We will be responsible for the south side of Westport Road from Walden School to the Watterson Expressway.
