Don Tomes with The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution recently presented Mayor Lewis with a certificate of commendation to the City of Woodlawn Park in recognition of the City's exemplary patriotism in the display of the flag of the United States of America.

A community is only as strong as its citizen involvement. So I encourage you to find a way to get involved. Be it helping a neighbor in need, serving on a committee or running for office, we ALL have a way we can serve.

Above all if you want to have a good neighbor, be a good neighbor!

You're always welcome to attend the monthly City Council Meeting. We meet the third Monday of the month at 7:00 pm in the Woodlawn Park City Hall.

It's that time again!

Just a reminder of the Louisville Metro ordinance on yard waste. One of the following containers must be used for yard waste.

-Reusable Container

-Paper Yard Waste Bag

-Compostable Plastic Bag

(ASTM D6400 standards.)

We welcome our newest member to the Block Watch Committee, Matt Chamberlain of Stivers Rd. He will be the Captain for 600-702 Stivers Rd.

Chief Heaton's Corner

On my patrols of the city I've noticed there are several homes with missing or obscured housed numbers. It is for your safety that we require that your house number be visible from the street. If the pizza man can't see your house number-no dinner. If cable is out - no TV. And God forbid if there is an emergency - no ambulance!

Even in your own driveway it is wise to keep the doors on your vehicles locked and valuables out of sight. You never know when a set of curious eyes may in the shadows looking for a quick score.

Please be courteous to all of your neighbors at all times
