WOODLAWN PARK NEWS
February 2015

Valentine' Day is almost here! Woodlawn Willy didn't see his shadow, so spring hopefully is just around the corner.

Thank you for your vote and trust in electing me to serve as your mayor for the 2015-2018 term. My focus is and will be maintaining our version of the mythical "Mayberry". Is our city perfect, no. Is our city without crime, no. Do neighbors sometime disagree, yes. Mayberry" had its share of those issues as well. Like "Mayberry" we are fortunate in that these issues are few and the quality of life is good in Woodlawn Park.

A community is only as strong as its citizen involvement. So I encourage you to find a way to get involved. Be it helping a neighbor in need, serving on a committee or running for office, we ALL have a way we can serve.

Above all if you want to have a good neighbor, be a good neighbor!

     Have a great February!

Mayor  Lewis

CITY PRIDE & GOOD NEIGHBOR AWARD

Image

Do you have a neighbor that is deserving of the City Pride Award?

Does their property stand out?

Have they recently made improvements?

Have they done that something extra?

The City Pride Award now includes a Good Neighbor Award as well. Many times when a neighbor is recommended for the award it also includes that the neighbor is a good neighbor; so City Pride is now the City Pride & Good Neighbor Award. They do go hand in hand!

To nominate a resident for City Pride, please email Councilmember Donna Rand at r.rand@woodlawnpark.com, provide address and a reason for the nomination.

Make sure to check that the local government tax is going to Woodlawn Park on your insurance bills.......

Ordinance Number 3, Series 1990-1991 imposes a License Fee upon Insurance Companies for the privilege of engaging in the business of insurance within the corporate limits of the City of Woodlawn Park.  This includes homeowners, car insurance and first year premiums of life insurance.   This ordinance has been difficult to enforce because of the city dynamics and the number of insurance companies issuing policies. The problem has arisen where many residents are not making their insurance company aware of the proper direction of the tax fee.

Print this out and attach to your next insurance bill payment, or call your insurance agent directly to advise of your correct local government.

Please properly direct the Local Government Tax for this customer to the City of Woodlawn Park, KY.  Zip Code is 40207.

FOR QUESTIONS

Contact the city treasurer by mail via C. Veeneman CPA, 2527 Nelson Miller Parkway / Louisville, KY 40223-3161

Contact the city treasurer by phone at 502-244-5043.

Please help us solve this situation and help your city collect thousands of dollars that are being routed to St. Matthews or other municipalities in error.  Your insurance rates WILL NOT change.  This tax fee is already being paid as part of your bill.  It is merely a matter of misdirection of these funds.  You can simply call your insurance company or detach the cut-out below and attach to your next payment.
