City of Woodlawn Park News-
News for Woodlawn Park Residents!
March 2014

Dear Residents,

WOW! Here we go again. The Polar Vortex is knocking at our door - temps in the 60's a couple of weeks ago sure felt great! So far, this Winter season we have spent a little over $6,000 in city snow removal compared to last years total of about $3,000 and it looks as if the forecast is predicting more white stuff this 1st weekend of March. The good news is that we have money in the budget still available; the bad news is many landscape folk including Metro Louisville have run out of salt. So, let's hope warmer weather gets here quick!

In case you missed this last month, here is the Woodlawn Park snow removal policy: 2" or more of snow and TLD Services (our contractor) plows all the streets in the city. Less than  2", all of the intersections receive a salt treatment including all of our entrances. In some cases with approval from the Mayor, an additional amount of salt may be applied to the city streets within a certain temperature range. We normally wait until the upper 20's because applying salt in the teens or below reduces its effectiveness.

Don't forget, you can always check out the city monthly financial reports and city council minutes online by visiting or clicking here!

As always remember to be a good neighbor!

Stay warm, spring will be here in 20 days- I hope!

Mayor Brown
