Industrial Disposal Incident on New Years Eve Day!

Published: Mon, 01/07/13

Dear Residents,

This is an email I have received from Industrial Disposal
apologizing for the incident on New Years Eve in our City. I few
residents complained so I thought I would share with all on our
email distribution list- even though everyone was not affected.

Hope you are enjoying the New Year!

Mike

Mayor Brown,

Due to a man hour shortage / availability over the holidays we were
challenged to complete our routes within time frame restrictions.
As our drivers have CDL licenses they are governed by D.O.T. hours
restrictions (max hours per day, a safety regulation). The
recycling truck packed out (max capacity) and had to drive to
New Albany recycling center to unload...for the driver to make that
round trip he would have violated DOT hours. In a "crunch /
panic" late in the day, a decision was made that rather than
leave the items behind until Wednesday we had a nearby truck come
by and finish the last few trash / recycling stops. There
were about 20 stops affected on Monday.

All we can do is apologize, it certainly is not our normal
operation / work ethic...but as I say, "desperate people do
desperate things" and this appears to be an example.
99.99% of the time we are separating trash and recycling with
dedicated trucks.

Thanks for your
understanding.

Have a great 2013.

Mike
