Woodlawn Park is a wonderful city with so many wonderful residents! Our people and our history are our strong suits. We should always strive to be kind, caring, respectful, and considerate of all those that come into our city.
- An ATT employee knocking doors of their existing customers is ok.
- The Boy Scouts of America sticking a note on residents doors to announce their food collection is ok.
- A politician knocking on your door asking for a vote is
ok.
- A stranger walking down the street with a clip board is ok.
Someone knocking on your door trying to solicit their business without a Woodlawn Park is not
ok.
If you believe that a solicitor is in the city without a permit, please contact Chief Wilson at (502) 650-2230 to alert him of the solicitor. Please do not take matters in your own hands.
A permit in Woodlawn Park for soliciting can be obtained via
the website and approval by the Mayor only. Fees to solicit during the week are $25 per day, Saturdays are $50 per day, and Sunday's are $100 per day.
Let's all decide together not
to jump to conclusions about someone in our city until we know for sure they are soliciting. Verbally attacking the Boy Scouts of America is unacceptable, unkind, and disrespecting to say the least. Let's all stay calm and contact the proper authorities before overreacting.
