- After a unanimous vote by the city council, all property owners who rent out their homes for more than 30 days per year will have an increase to their rental license fees effective April 2026.

Stop Signs are HERE on Walser Road

There are now 2 new stop signs heading north and south at Alicent Road and Court on Walser Rd. They were added for the safety of the intersection and to reduce overall speed on Walser. Speeding and rolling through any street or stop sign in our city is the number one complaint to our police chief. Let's all work on this together to make our roads safer.

Kinloch Road Speed Humps

The Mayor has asked Chief Wilson to review the speed data and car count for Kinloch Road. Because of an issue with not being able to install the temporary humps as planned, the Mayor will be making a decision as to whether to install two speed humps like the one in the photo once all the data has been presented to the Mayor.

Couple notes about street parking:

Parking cars on the lawn or having wheels in the lawn is prohibited in Woodlawn Park.
Parking on the street is allowed if your driveway is full from a party at your home or if you are having service work done to your home.

Property Tax bills for 2025 have been mailed out. They are due without penalty no later than September 30, 2025. DON’T FORGET- you can now pay on the city website. August City Pride Award

Congratulations to Fred & Suzanne Dugan of 6894 Green Meadow Circle for receiving the monthly City Pride Award. Their landscaping and yard look great all year long... even though Fred told me, "it's been so dry and hard to get grass to grow." Believe me, I told him he goes over and beyond of taking pride in living in Woodlawn Park. If you have a neighbor that deserves the city pride award- just email the Mayor. Drive or walk by the Dugan's property all month long for taking pride in their city!

City council legislation updates

Effective April 2026, all property owners who rent out their homes in Woodlawn Park will have an increase to their rental license fees. Currently, the fee is $250. In April 2026, the fee will be increased to $750 per property, in April 2027, the fee will increase to $1,000 and in April 2028, the fee will increase to $1,250. This was a unanimous vote from the City Council. Click here for Signed amended ordinance

Woodlawn Park New Police Car hitting our streets this week.

If all goes as planned, Chief Wilson will be cruising our city streets in our new 2024 Black Dodge Durango this week. It is currently being upfitted, the process in which the lights, sirens, decals, electrical, computer, and much more is being installed in the vehicle. The City Council and the Mayor have entered into a 3-year lease with KACO (Kentucky Association of Counties) a non-profit organization that offers municipal leases at a low 5.25% interest rate. Woodlawn Park paid $40,400 for the vehicle and $10,000 is going towards upfitting costs. Total investment was $50,400. We will pay $17,744 annually for 3 years. Woodlawn Park owns the vehicle once the lease has been exhausted. After some discussion last year, it was decided that even though the 2016 Dodge Charger had served us well, it was time for Woodlawn Park to sell it now as its value on the open market should be attractive to some other small police departments in the State or elsewhere. As the Mayor, I'm excited to know that our new horse logo has made it on the vehicle and that it will be a whole new look entirely on our police vehicle!

LOUISVILLE GROWS delivers over 20 trees this past Saturday to our residents.

Many thanks to James Russell Bushong, City Council/Forester for organizing this project. The project started several months ago when James went around asking residents if they would like a FREE tree to help add to the tree canopy in our city. Louisville Grows is a wonderful organization that helps plant trees all over Louisville Metro. I want to thank Collin from Louisville Grows that brought our tress to us on Saturday. In a future edition of the monthly message we will provide many benefits of why trees are so important.

Fall Junk Pick Up Day will be held Saturday, October 18th

All residents should have all their junk to the curb by 6am on that morning! Click this link for acceptable items!

Fall/Chili Social will be held for the 3rd year in a row on Friday, October 10th from 6-8pm and a special appearance by the LMPD Horse Patrol!

All Woodlawn Park residents and their families are invited to our Fall/Chili family friendly Social that will be held at City Hall. Enjoy a bowl or two of chili and "Octoberish" snacks. Feel free to contact Councilperson Kevin Reh for more information. It's a great evening for the kids and for adults to be able to meet neighbors you may not know and just take a night off and relax- we hope you can attend!

***** SPECIAL APPEARANCE BY THE LMPD HORSE PATROL *****

Chief Wilson has confirmed at least two horses will be here from the LMPD horse patrol- should be neat to see horses in our city again! Chief Wilson has worked very hard to maintain relations and create new ones with LMPD and surrounding agencies. He has arranged the mounted patrol to patrol our area and stop in for families attending the Fall/Chili Social. Please make plans to come support our chili social, candy giveaway, and the LMPD horse patrol! Our Chief continues to go over and beyond for the City of Woodlawn Park and we are most appreciative!

Recycle Right Program is FREE! And will be coming to Woodlawn Park in late October.
