We have noticed a great many residents making improvements to their homes and keeping their yards looking nice over the last few months. Let's keep it going as it really does make our city "shine." The city is doing its part to keep Woodlawn Park looking good too. We are planning on adding new entrance signs on each of the 6 streets that enter off Westport Road, we will also be
replacing all the the other signs (including no parking and speed limit signs), the city is also converting the lights along Westport Road to LED. We will be saving on electrical costs and also providing more lumens down than the loss in the air of our current lights thus providing more light as we enter our city.
City Council Decides Against Lowering Speed Limit for now....
After discussing the speed limit ordinance at the October city council meeting, the city council decided not to take any action on lowering the speed limit for Woodlawn park at this time. We discussed adding additional signage and adding a couple temporary speed humps in the city sometime in
the spring of 2025. We will continue to use the speed radar machines and we ask that all residents abide by the speed limit as we have many children and dog walkers on our streets many days.
HINT: Try to leave the house a few minutes early so you are not tempted to speed.
Congratulations City Council Winners! We could not operate our city without our city council and the support they each offer every day of the year. Please thank them for their service when you see them next or click the IMAGE above for their emails!

City Forester Report
James Russell-Bushong gave a report to the city council in October about the tree canopy in our area and a possible tree giveaway program with Louisville Grows next year.
We are encouraging all residents to think about adding a tree or two this coming year.
Please email James at falltrees502@icloud.com for more information about the type of tree you might consider adding to your property.
Mayor attended Kentucky League of Cities Conference the week of September 23rd!
Once again, I was able to obtain a liability grant from the KLC of $1,500 that we will use towards the completion of the sidewalk repair in Orchid Hill Place. This repair work should be done by the end of the year (weather pending).
This years conference set up a field of Mayors that wanted to participate in a "pop a shot" tournament. Obviously, I was all in as I'm a competitor. But, can you believe the "draw" had myself and Mayor Hagan from the City of Lyndon in the play in game to get into the field. Remember, I hurt my Achilles tendon about 7 months ago and
I am blaming that on my loss to Mayor Hagan. I tried so hard but in the end I got beat!
Did you know?
That all garbage cans should be returned by 4pm the next day off the street.
That each resident is responsible to maintain your easement along
the road in front of your homes. This includes mowing and picking up leaves too so water can drain out of our city.
Speed limit is 25 m.p.h.
