CHIEF WILLIAM "RICH" WILSON
Mayor Brown has chosen and hired our new Police Chief. He was approved by the City Council on Monday, June 17th. He was sworn into
office that same evening.
Chief Wilson brings over 22 years of LMPD experience, was an instructor for the academy for many years, and has worked many different areas of LMPD. He is very personable, knowledgeable in the field, and has an overall passion to serve the community with all he has to offer. He is married to his wife Kylie and
they have a 2.5 year old son, Hank!
He will work anywhere between 80-110 hours per month depending on our city needs. His flexible and staggered schedule will include mornings, afternoons, evenings and some weekends too. LMPD will still remain our 1st responder to emergencies. Mr. George Stewart will still be around to enforce ordinances like
grass height, property maintenance, and air bnb's to mention a few. Our new Police Chief will provide a presence to the city, talking with residents, and enforcing no parking on the street as well as solicitor prevention.
I am excited to see our Dodge Charger back out on the streets of our city. If you see Chief Wilson out and about, be
sure to flag him down to introduce yourself to him.
We are currently waiting on uniforms being prepared, however, in the meantime you may see him out in plain clothes.
As always,
feel free to call the city police cell phone (502) 650-2230 in case you may need something. But, if you need to make a code complaint, please use the online form to do so so we can keep a tracking record.
Thanks to each of you for your patience as it took me 3 months to find the best person that I felt will best serve our city!
