First off, our police department has never been our first responder. The main reason we have a police chief is to deter crime in our city by riding around in our Dodge Charger and enforcing our city ordinances. However, moving forward, I have hired George Stewart as the city code enforcer who will write city citations and work with residents to follow the ordinances. If you’d ever like to file a complaint against your neighbor or another resident in the city for violating an ordinance like parking on the street, etc. please click here to report one or call/text at (502) 599-8938. Mr. Stewart came highly recommended by our neighboring cities of Lyndon,  Beechwood Village, and Richlawn- just to mention a few. He will continue to do this role even after we hire our next police chief. Here's what I'm looking for in our next Police Chief:

• Part-time position of about 80 hours per month
• Hours (days, nights and weekends) can be flexible
• Sworn police officer
• Main emphasis of city street patrol (they will no longer be required to write citations for code violations such as parking on the street and grass height)
• Must have strong interpersonal skills
• Take home car
• Salary $26-$39 per hour (depending on experience/training etc.)
